Very Viable Alternative to Other Brands
I purchased this twin-size memory foam mattress for my son. This is the second bed I purchased from the SleepShop - the first being my Queen-size bed. To be honest my son's bed is more comfortable than mine! It has just the right amount of firmness and comfort. I had relatives visit for a few days and my mother slept on this bed. She is now in California wanting the link to this bed.
I've only had this bed for about 3 months so I cannot comment on the durability. I can comment on my Queen which I have had for about two years. The memory foam has torn in different spots but the blame rests primarily on us: we have moved three or four times in these two years alone (the Army is busy!) Trust me though - the tears have not affected the performance of the memory foam and to this day the bed still retains its shape.

Fast Shipping--Super Comfy
I didnt have the shipping issues the other reviewer did--my bed arrived from fed-ex exactly on time and packed up perfectly. Maybe the only downside was i had to haul the mattress to my actual apartment as the fed-ex guy only got it as far as my elevator.
As for the bed itself super comfy. I wish they had made the full-size with the air-venting bottom foam cuz it does get a teensie bit warm but i sleep with my window open so its not a big deal for me. You cut open the vacuum plastic packaging and the thing unfolds and inflates itself. The smell took a few days to dissipate but it really wasnt horribly smelly to begin with.
Overall very satisfied with this purchase and at 399 shipping included really cannot be beat!

PerfectMy old mattress was hard and lumpy. My back was killing me. Faced with disposing of the old mattress and replacing it with a pillow-top style for hundreds of dollars and hours of labor or buying a piece of foam to put on top for the fraction of the price I went this route.
The 1.5 inch thickness allowed me to tuck it under my fitted sheet. Although these foam toppers can be many times thicker I have never felt like it was bottoming out. This is the perfect thickness. As soon as I tried it out my eyes closed and I felt so relaxed. Unlike an ordinary mattress my weight is more evenly distributed. I don't feel pressure points and flat spots. My back felt better after only one night. As far as comparing memory foam to a pillow top mattress it's a tough call. Pillow top is a bit more firm.
Other foam products have received negative reviews for the odor. I suppose any new foam product will have a slight odor to it. This one had a "new car" type of smell to it and the manufacturer says it will dissipate in a few days - but I don't find it all that bad.
For the price this can be replaced every few years if it becomes stained or ripped.
